We are excited to introduce weekday yoga classes in our new Wellness and Events space. Kim Pears brings her expertise in Yin Yoga to Polynesian Spa offering a deeply relaxing and meditative experience.

Yin Yoga

Join our Yin Yoga class to experience a quiet, introspective practice that focuses on long-held stretches targeting the body’s deeper tissues. This practice promotes flexibility, releases deep-seated tensions, and calms the nervous system. Kim will guide you through each pose, helping you find stillness and inner balance in our fast-paced world.

Schedule:

Wednesday evenings – 5:30 to 6:30 pm

Yoga mats, blocks, straps and bolsters are included. Classes are $25 and pool packages can be added.

 

 

Meet Kim Pears – Yin Yoga Instructor at Polynesian Spa

Kim Pears is a highly regarded yoga instructor based in Rotorua, New Zealand. Her yoga journey began in a Lancashire school hall, where she quickly fell in love with the practice. She pursued her passion in New Zealand, training at Ashram Yoga’s retreat center in Opoutere and completing her Hatha Yoga teacher training in 2012.

Kim’s teaching experience spans diverse settings, including indoor classes, outdoor sessions at the foreshore in Picton, and a ‘Yoga in Nature’ series at local beaches. She discovered the profound benefits of Yin Yoga, a practice that emphasizes internal acceptance and long-held stretches. Kim trained with Markus Giess and Karin Sang, co-founders of Yin Therapy, who were taught by Paul Grilley.

Kim paused her teaching in 2020 to pursue a Master’s Degree in Professional Writing from the University of Waikato, graduating with First Class Honours in 2022. Returning to yoga in 2022, she now brings her expertise in Yin Yoga to Polynesian Spa. Her classes provide a deeply relaxing and nourishing experience, inviting you to connect with your true essence and achieve a deep sense of calm, focus, and equanimity.
