Taking time out for oneself, connecting as a couple, catching up with friends, eating well and discovering true relaxation are just some of the New Year resolutions that are in mind at this time of year.

Taking time out for oneself, connecting as a couple, catching up with friends, eating well and discovering true relaxation are just some of the New Year resolutions that are in mind at this time of year.

However we all know just how difficult it can be to stick to those good intentions – work gets back into full swing, family life becomes hectic and before you know it, those New Year resolutions are a distant memory.

So what’s the key to staying on track? Experts believe it’s striving towards your goals from the outset and ensuring that along the way you take little moments to celebrate and enjoy your successes. So, start the year as you mean to go on, take some time out for yourself and soon your little changes will become habit.

Whether it be a simple soak in one of our 26 hot mineral bathing pools, or a decadent therapy to help you switch off and unwind, Polynesian Spa is a place where you can relax and reset.

The waters here are truly unique with the combination not found anywhere else in the world. Our Priest Spring is slightly acidic to relieve tired muscles, aches and pains, while the alkaline water from the Rachel Spring nourishes the skin. Our world class therapies are also designed to soothe the body and restore the mind through both ancient and modern techniques.

Polynesian Spa Retreat manager and head therapist, Helena Keenan is a qualified meditation therapist, and with her guidance, even the busiest of minds will be able to switch off. Helena has some great tips for therapies, and recommends regular therapies to switch off faster and get the full relaxation benefits. We’ll be sharing more of Helena’s tips later this month so do keep an eye out for them.

Taking time out as a couple is something that can also at times be pushed aside, yet is so important for maintaining a good relationship. Hear more from Makaia Carr on her thoughts about reconnecting with her hubby when they both recently visited Polynesian Spa.

If one of your resolutions is to see more of your friends, we recommend coming to see our little piece of paradise here in Rotorua with its beautiful lakes, forests and mineral bathing – at this time of the year it’s truly beautiful. It’s also recently been named as one of the five best places for a girls’ getaway – so get the group together and make a weekend of it. For those that are Rotorua residents, a Polynesian Spa locals card is a great excuse for a weekly catch-up and soothing dip.

We wish you the best of years and can’t wait to welcome you through our doors sometime soon.
