Our Spa Retreat Manager, Helena Keenan, is our resident wellbeing expert and co-leads regular Mindful Moments Weekend Retreats with Rachel Grunwell, our wellness ambassador.
Helena’s personal experience with meditation began in 1992, sparking a deep interest in its wellbeing benefits. She is a qualified Mindfulness Meditation teacher and has completed further studies in the practices of guided imagery and contemplation.
What is mindful meditation?
The Practice of Meditation allows you to train your mind to be present with a relaxed but alert awareness. With practice, you can improve your focus, memory, sleep habits, the ability to relax and overall mood.
In this session, Helena will take the group through practical breathing exercises which help trigger a relaxation response in the body and mind. She will also guide you through a series of mindfulness exercises that you can practice at home or at work to further your wellness journey.
