What’s Included
Polynesian Spa – Family Pools
Polynesian Spa’s Family Pools area is designed for splashing, sliding, and spending quality time together. At the heart of the area is a large freshwater chlorinated pool, kept at a comfortable 33°C. It features a toddler-friendly shallow section, a deeper area for older children, and a small hydro slide that’s always a favourite with younger swimmers.
Alongside the main pool are two alkaline mineral hot pools, fed from the famous Rachel Spring. These pools are maintained at approximately 37°C and 40°C, offering a peaceful space for parents and caregivers to relax while still keeping an eye on the kids nearby. Children are welcome in these pools too, but they’re especially appreciated by adults looking for a moment to soak and unwind.
To keep everyone safe, the Family Pools are lifeguard-supervised at all times, and Polynesian Spa is proudly Poolsafe Accredited. There are two dedicated family changing rooms on site, as well as separate male and female changing and showering facilities. Free storage tubs are available for personal belongings, and swimwear and towels can be hired or purchased from the Spa Essentials shop.
When it’s time for a bite to eat, the on-site 88Ra Café serves a selection of family-friendly options including hot meals, fresh juices, smoothies, and gelato — perfect for refuelling after a swim.
Don’t leave without visiting our Spa Essentials Shop — open daily until 11pm. It’s more than a place to grab the extras — you’ll find cosy gifts, fun books and puzzles for kids, soothing wellness products, and a little something for everyone to take the relaxation or a spoil home. A perfect stop before or after your soak.
Entry to the Family Pools is valid only on the selected date of your booking.
Peak Times Advisory
During busy periods, particularly on weekends and school holidays, there may be a wait of up to 30 minutes to enter the Family Pools due to capacity limits. While waiting, guests are welcome to relax at the café. Thank you for your patience as we prioritise a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors.
Paradise Valley Springs Wildlife Park
Paradise Valley Springs offers a classic Rotorua wildlife experience, with a mix of up-close animal encounters, native bush scenery, and hands-on fun. Families can feed friendly animals including deer, goats, alpacas, and wallabies, and stroll peaceful forest tracks surrounded by native trees and birdlife. The park is home to an impressive pride of African lions, which can be viewed throughout the day and seen during their daily feeding at 2.30pm.
Along the way, you’ll discover trout pools and clear running streams, a treetop walkway, and a walk-through aviary with native birds such as kea, tūī and kererū. There’s also a natural freshwater spring, Te Waireka, where visitors are welcome to fill their bottles and taste the water straight from the source.
When it’s time for a break, the park’s Snack Café offers sandwiches, pies, muffins, cold drinks, ice creams, and barista-made coffee, with relaxed seating areas near the kea aviary and lion enclosure. Before you leave, don’t forget to browse the gift shop, stocked with souvenirs, animal-themed toys, and Paradise-branded keepsakes.
Your ticket to Paradise Valley Springs is open-dated and valid for 6 months from purchase.
