Family Pools is Polynesian Spa’s all-ages bathing area in Rotorua, designed for families who want space to play, soak, and spend time together. This family-friendly pool area includes one large freshwater pool with a shallow toddler section, deeper swimming area, and small hydro slide, plus two Rachel Spring alkaline mineral hot pools where parents and caregivers can relax while supervising children. With lifeguard supervision, family changing facilities, and 88Ra Café nearby, Family Pools offers an easy and social geothermal bathing experience for children, parents, and grandparents. Please note that Family Pools does not have lake views.
Pool Features
One large freshwater pool for play and swimming, plus two Rachel Spring mineral hot pools for soaking and supervision:
- One large freshwater chlorinated pool (33°C / 91°F) with a shallow toddler area, deeper swimming area, and small hydro slide for young children to enjoy
- Two Rachel Spring alkaline mineral hot pools (37°C / 99°F and 40°C / 104°F; Pool Depth: 0.7m deep / 27.5 inches), designed for seated immersion while supervising older children
- Family Pools is a social, family-focused area and does not have lake views
Peak Times Advisory
- During busy periods, including school holidays and long weekends, there may be a wait to enter Family Pools as safe capacity limits are managed onsite
- While waiting, families can relax at 88Ra Café with meals, juices, smoothies, coffee, and gelato

Family-Friendly Information
- Family Pools is suitable for all ages
- Children under 12 must be accompanied by a caregiver
- Children under 8 must be actively supervised in the water by a caregiver aged 16 or over
- Infants and children under 5 enter free
- Infants and toddlers must wear an approved swim nappy, with suitable swimwear worn over the swim nappy at all times
- Approved swim nappies are available to purchase onsite

- Bring swimwear, towels, and a water bottle, or hire or purchase them onsite
- Family Pools is a more social and active bathing area, designed for families with children
- The two Rachel Spring hot pools are designed for soaking rather than swimming
- During peak periods, wait times may apply before entry
