Overheating and dehydrating danger with prolonged bathing

  • Prolonged immersion in our hotter pools may cause dehydration and fainting. We recommend that you do not stay in hotter temperature pools for more than 15 minutes at a time.
  • Alternate to cooler pools and maintain a regular intake of fluids. Water fountains can be found throughout the complex.
  • Lifeguards regularly perform wellness checks on bathers whom they suspect may be getting dehydrated or too tired whilst bathing. Please do not be alarmed or offended if they check in on you.
  • Take care when entering and exiting pools and use the handrails provided.
  • We do not recommend submerging your head underwater in our hot pools.
  • Please consult your doctor if you have any medical conditions that might be affected by hot pool bathing.
  • We recommend that pregnant women are cautious when bathing in hot mineral water and only soak in the low temperature (33degC – 38degC) alkaline Rachel Spring hot pools while ensuring a high intake of fluids and breaks in between. All private pools are alkaline. Pavilion pools and Deluxe Spa Pools have alkaline pools too. We do not recommend pregnant women bathe in the acidic Priest Spring hot pools. Some pregnant women choose only to soak their feet.

Minimum age for entry, child & infant supervision, nappy and bathing suit requirements

  • Children under 12 years will not be admitted unless accompanied by an adult.
  • Children under 8 years must be actively supervised at all times by a caregiver aged 16 or over. ‘Actively’ means you must be in the water with your child at all times and able to provide immediate assistance.
  • All infants must wear bathing suits and swimming nappies, which are available for purchase at reception.
  • We recommend keeping infants in lower-temperature pools to ensure they do not overheat. They must be actively supervised at all times.
  • No jumping or diving into pools is allowed.
  • All bathers must wear appropriate swimwear whilst using our pools.
  • Children 8 years and over are not allowed to enter the opposite sex change rooms.

 Taking care on-site

  •  Please do not float face down in our hot pools. Lifeguards will assume they need to conduct a wellness check on you.
  • If you are visiting during the day, please remember to protect yourself with sunscreen.
  • No diving or jumping is allowed.
  • All surfaces are slippery when wet. Please do not run and take care in wet areas.
  • Alcohol and glassware are not permitted in pool areas. We do not recommend bathing after consuming alcohol.
  • For your own safety, do not enter any garden areas on-site or climb on any poolside rocks.

 Geothermal water tarnishes jewellery

  • We recommend leaving jewellery and other valuables at home to avoid misplacing or leaving them behind. We accept no responsibility for any loss or damage to personal property.
  •  Mineral water will tarnish jewellery, silver particularly. We recommend removing all jewellery before bathing and do not accept responsibility for any tarnished jewellery.

Closing time, mobile phones, drones and complex etiquette

  • Guests will be asked to vacate the pools 15 minutes prior to the facility closing time.
  • In the interest of the enjoyment of others around you, the use of mobile phones for conversations and playing music is not permitted. Please follow staff instructions if you are asked to put your phone away.
  • All pool areas are dedicated to relaxation and should remain peaceful and quiet environments, with the exception of the Family Pools.
  • The Deluxe Lake Spa area allows for well-behaved and supervised children, where noise and disturbance are kept to a minimum.
  • Staff will remind guests about these conditions if required. Continuous breach of these conditions may result in guests being asked to leave the Deluxe Lake Spa area with no refund given.
  • Inappropriate behaviour, damage to property and abusive/aggressive conduct towards staff members and fellow bathers will result in being asked to leave with no refund given.
  • If you are taking photos or videos, do not photograph other bathers without their consent.
  • The use of drones in or near our complex is not allowed.
